August Mom of the Month: Martha Bramlett

Tell us about your family?

My husband, J.W. and I have been married for 8 years. We a have a wonderful 15 month old, Trey.

Why is FIT4MOM important to you?

FIT4MOM is essential for moms who want to build a community while prioritizing health. I love that I am able to workout and bring Trey. I have also enjoyed the connections I have made within the FIT4MOM community.

What do you remember about your first FIT4MOM class?

I remember being nervous but everyone was so kind and welcoming.

What was your childhood ambition?

My childhood ambition was to be a teacher. I loved school so much that I would go back during my summer break to volunteer at my elementary.

What are 3 of your favorite things?

My favorite 3 things are my Apple Watch, music, and New Girl.

What is one of your 2024 goals for YOU this year?

One current goal for 2024 is to run a 5k. I am currently participating in an eight week couch to 5k program.

What has being a mom taught you?

Since becoming a mother, I have realized how strong and resilient I am. If I can make it through pregnancy and postpartum, I can make it through anything.

Advice for first time moms?

To all new moms embarking on this incredible journey, prioritize your well-being—both physical and mental—because taking care of yourself enables you to care for your little one. Don't hesitate to ask for help when you need it; whether it's from your partner, family, or friends, support is essential in navigating the challenges and joys of motherhood.

You have 4 hrs of FREE babysitting, what would you do with your time?

J.W. and I would go on a date night! We would go to dinner, a movie, and get some ice cream.

Favorite spot to eat in Texarkana?

Tacos Mi Pueblo has the best enchiladas and gorditas.

What is a fun fact that many may not know about you?

I graduated high school and started college at the age of 16.

If someone was thinking about attending a FIT4MOM class or joining, what would you tell them?

It is okay to be nervous but the most important thing is to just show up.
